Abstract
This article describes the daily life of a person with a moderate disability resulting from an autoimmune disease, namely erythema nodosum. The subject of the analysis is the case of a man struggling with an autoimmune condition, the course of which affects his psychosocial and professional life as well as his daily functioning. The study characterizes the disease entity, the diagnostic process, test results, and medical opinions. A case study method was employed, based on the analysis of medical records and an interview regarding the patient’s medical history and its significance for the process of normalizing the patient’s social life. It also discusses forms of support from family and specialists, as well as external factors contributing to the exacerbation of disease symptoms. The aim of the article was to highlight the factors determining the process of normalizing the patient’s life, with particular emphasis on psychosocial and occupational functioning in the context of a chronic, incurable autoimmune disease.
